What is known as GMC was born in 1912. It was the result of a merger between Reliance Motors, Randall Motors, and Rapid Motor. GMC stands for General Motor Company and it has plenty of happy consumers. The company started out making electric vehicles from 1912 until 1917.

During World War II, more than 500,000 vehicles for military use were manufactured by GMC. The top selling pickup that they offer is the Sierra. It has been able to continually do better for consumers than tough competitors. This includes the Nissan Titan and the Toyota Tundra.

There was once a heavy duty line offered by GMC but it has been discontinued. This included ambulances, motor homes, and fire trucks. Some of the vehicle designs offered by GMC are very similar to those of Chevrolet. However, you can tell them apart by their emblems and a few other minor differences.

GMC is considered to be in the top 10 manufacturers of vehicles in the USA. The sales for the SUV called the Denali has sold more vehicles than anyone ever anticipated. It is considered a luxury vehicle and it has sales that passed those of Land Rover and Jaguar. Their headquarters are located in Michigan.
