Volkswagen Vehicles have gone through a strong increase in their selling price recently. There has been a considerable inflation in the selling prices for this model.
The retail prices for Volkswagen cars have gone through a strong rise during the last 6 months. During the first month analyzed in March the average price was $57,039. April went through a strong inflation with a rise in the price till $103,865. During the following two months (May, June) the average selling price experienced a noticeable rise, going up 25 % from $80,452 to $100,380. In the last two months, the price has gone through a strong devaluation of -37 % compared to the 4 previous average values going down from $90,416 to $57,208.5.
The average price for Volkswagen has had a strong rise in recent years. Between "before 2000" and 2016, the average price is $12,159.61. There was a significant inflation of the average price in "before 2000" ($7,144) moving up till ($32,500)in 2016. During the next two years (2017, 2018) the price for the aforementioned model has gone up strongly a 233 %. During the last two years, prices in the car industry have gone up 10 % compared to the average values for the previous 4 years. This conclusion was reached from studying the prices for the the preceding four years in previous sample ($45,186.75) and the the last two years that were studied (2019, 2020) with a price of $49,835.
