The retail prices for Chevrolet Cavalier cars have gone through a strong rise during the last 6 months. The average price in May was of $4,167. This price hardly went through any changes and remained at $4,266 during June. During the following two months (July, August) the average selling price experienced a noticeable rise, going up 21 % from $4,216.5 to $5,119.5. During the last couple of months, the average price has hardly changed, remaining the same going from $4,668 to $4,728.5 during September and October.
The average price for Chevrolet Cavalier has remained constant in recent years. During "before 2000" and 2001, the average price was $3,351.33. During this period, prices pretty much remained constant. During the next two years (2002, 2003), the average price went up 14 % moving from !PRECIO1! to $3,804.5, During the last two years, prices in the car industry have experienced a depreciation of -7 % compared to the average prices for the previous 4 years. This has been obtained from prices from the the previous four years in a previous sample ($3,549.75) and the the last two years analyzed (2004, 2005) with a price of $3,295.
